So what is all the go with this Facebook stuff?

It’s a question we here regularly, closely followed by ‘Why do I need it for my business?”. Well the answer has a few elements to it.

Firstly we’ll look at why Social media, not just facebook, can be very powerful for getting your message out there. Do you remember back when people used to talk to each other, back when text messages was a way to get a short message to somebody rather than a medium to holding a conversation? Well unfortunately social media is a whole new way to avoid face-to-face communication. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many more are extensions onto email and sms where people can log in to their account and find out what everybody is thinking. People post their comments, pictures and videos for the world to see and if you are a follower, a friend, a colleague or whatever you’ll get instant notification of what been put out there.

So how is this important for you as a business? Well in today’s marketing its more important than ever to have positive word-of-mouth and while the old fashioned way of doing this (talking) seems is still effective using the social media is easier and wider reaching. People can now ‘like’ or ‘recommend’ you’re product or service with a single click. This means they then see anything you post to your social media instantly. Another bonus to this is as soon as they click that button it tells their network of friends that they are fans of your business. A true ambassador customer can spread the word about your business by tools conveniently called ‘Tell your friends’. This is a great tool because you set the original message on the business so it can’t get lost in translation – unlike the old Chinese whispers where the story changes slightly every time its passed on until the message is completely skewed.

The best part about setting up the social media is that it is completely free to do so, it just takes time to update all of the different accounts.

This is where AD Marketing can come in. We can set up your website so that it can sync a news section with all of your social medias. So all you have to do is enter into your website and it will automatically update across all the platforms. This has tremendous value in saving time and getting the message out there quickly and keeping you fresh in the minds of all of your followers.

The true beauty of this system is that there is a second benefit to be had by doing this, search engine optimisation.
Google (being the market leader in search engines) has a few basic rules to help you boost your search visibility and without going into all of them the ones I’d like to address relate to content, interactivity and traffic.

Content is probably pretty self explanatory, make sure you’re content within your site says exactly what you do. So this would also include using your key words as much as possible within your general text.

Interactivity is a little more in-depth, it works on the premise that the site is being updated frequently and there is relevant content being supplied on a regular basis.

Finally traffic, Google wants to see that there is traffic heading to your site to show that your site is reputable.

These three areas are exactly why we want to use social media. Not only can you get your message out there but the methods used by AD Marketing see all your social media posts link directly back to your website. This creates the link backs and the traffic, it creates the interactivity with your posts on your site and of course it’s the content you are constantly putting out there.
