Importance of Branding

When I talk to people looking for a few tips on how to improve their marketing the first thing I point towards is Branding.  Outside of having your back office in order so you can handle the demand consistent branding is the single most important thing you can do for your marketing.

If you think about how much marketing and advertising people are subjected to these days it is quite overwhelming.  I don’t know about you but I don’t pay attention to the name of a business nowadays but I use all my senses to recognise them.  I’m talking about their colours, their shape and the sound (if using audio) when checking their advertising.  The simple fact of the matter is that advertising is glanced over nowadays and people have developed the ability to skim through it all.  If you have a consistent message going out to the masses with the same colours, shapes and sounds people are more likely to remember your logo and business, even if they don’t remember the name.

I could go into how this works with sensory memory but I don’t think there is any point when I am pretty much stating the obvious.  Simple tip is keep everything looking the same starting with your Logo and stationary.  Make sure your business card has the same logo that you are using online and on any of the documents that leave the office.  If you’ve used a number of different graphic designers make sure you get a copy of the logo from them so it can be used again.  If you don’t know what the exact colours are that you are using have the graphic designer put together a style guide for you so it can be given to other designers and printers.

My advice to you is to make sure you’re sending the same message and it starts with your logo.  If you call AD Marketing before Friday 10th September you can get a Corporate Image for $300+GST.  They are normally 400+GST and include logo designed and supplied in numerous formats as well as a style guide so it will always be used the same way.
